I've been watching (but not registered at) Wheres George for a couple of years now. It looked cool, but alas, as a Canuck I rarely get to see, let alone spend US currency.
Now with Where's Willy up, I can take part.
I'm a computer admin at the University of Manitoba.
How my bills are marked
A sample bill, marked the way I've been stamping since the first week or so that I've been entering bills.
A close up of the stamp I had made at a local office supply store.
A close up of the series, which I have been circling in red marker. (As well as the serial numbers.)
I am now the top Where's Willy user. I have the highest Willy Score (388.2), the most bills entered (79), the most bills with hits (5), the highest hit rate (6.33%) of all users. Let's see that place grabbed by someone else!
Entered my 200th bill and recieved my first out-of-provice hit!
May 1st, 2001
Got the first 4th hit for the site, on my 200th WW bill entered.
May 6th, 2001
Got a fake hit supposedly from Beverly Hills California. Further investigation seems to indicate that it was entered from Winnipeg, with a "90210" zip code. Feh. However, my Willy Index is now over 600.
Had the above picture of my stamp printed next to a story about WW in The Globe And Mail, and was interview on the television show "The Chatroom" on TalkTV about the site.
Met with Gizmo during my trip to Toronto, and gave him my 700th bill. (We traded bills, but (as per the user guidelines) agreed not to enter them, just spend them.) Gizmo is a good guy, and it was nice to meet someone else from the site.
Saw one of my own bills 'in the wild', and emailed the details to Hank, who deemed it a valid hit. So I now have an 'own bill' hit, and a hit from Hank.
March 17th, 2002
Got my 250th bill hit, with a total of over 300 hits.
